A Day at Greenwood

** Rise and Shine - Counselors sleep in the cabin bunk room with campers;

8:40 ** Staff Prayer/Hoppers Report - During this time, several staff stay in the cabin areas and supervise campers while all other staff meet for morning prayer and announcements. This is an amazing way to start the day, gathered with fellow Christians in prayer to do His work. Hoppers (KP) report to the dining hall to help get tables set, chairs in place and general duties for the meal.  

8:55 ** Flag Raising Ceremony - A time to reflect on those who give so much for our FREEDOMS!

9:00 Breakfast - Meals are served on round tables where everyone is equal. All meals have one main dish with several side dishes. In addition, each meal has a buffet table where campers have other options. Cold cereal is always at breakfast. We will wait for all campers to be present before starting devotions and wait till all are finished before we dismiss. This promotes camp family.

9:40 Chapel - Camp Greenwood prayerfully develops a spiritual theme for each summer. This theme is integrated into daily chapels typically through skits and stories. The theme is also carried into evening devotions in the cabins at night.

10:15 Cabin/Camp Clean Up - One of the valuable lessons that can be learned at camp is how to live with others in a community as well as personal responsibility. Cabin Clean-up is a time where everyone helps keep camp clean.

11:00 **  Activity 1 Begins - Campers will be able to sign up for an exploratory activity the day before discover new talents.  A sign up sheet will be made available at meal times for them to select an activity.  Examples: archery, snorkeling, braiding, water gymnastics, canoeing, drama, music, nature crafts, swim lesssons, sailing, instrumentals, farm animals, game room (billards, ping pong, air hockey, foseball) and fishing;

11:50 ** Activity 1 Ends

12:15 ** Morning Free Swim - After morning activities campers have the option of going to the waterfront for swimming, boating and canoeing. It is a time for campers to cool off and have fun. Campers can also hang out in the Central Area for basketball, volleyball, tetherball and the playground.

1:10 ** Freeswim Ends/ Hoppers Report - Hoppers (KP) report to the dining hall to help get tables set, chairs in place and general duties for the meal.

** Lunch - followed by singing praise songs, mail and announcements and of course the Phantom.  Dismissal will be announced.

Bunk Time F.O.B. - During this down time, campers can rest, relax, write letters, and catch their breath before more fun.

3:15 ** Activity 2 - Campers will have the opportunity to sign up for two 5 day activities to help perfect their gifts/talents and become an expert.   Activity One is an exploratory, while Activity 2 is meant to learn a new skill or an old one better.  Campers maybe involved in various sports, drama, arts and crafts, challenge course, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, swim lessons, fishing, nature exploration, and music.

4:45 ** Activity 3 - Campers will have the opportunity to sign up for two 5 day activities to help perfect their gifts/talents and become an expert.   Activity One is an exploratory, while Activity 2 is meant to learn a new skill or an old one better.  Campers maybe involved in various sports, drama, arts and crafts, challenge course, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, swim lessons, fishing, nature exploration, and music.

7:00 Supper - Supper is a time for crazy announcements about evening activities, rotating tables and fellowship.  Dismissal will be announced.

FREE TIME

8:00 ** Evening Program - This is a time for an all camp game, such as, Capture the Flag, Capture the Counselor, Tug of Mud War, Water Olympics, Balloon Battle, Earth Ball Tournament, Formal Dinner and Dance, Campfire and Smores, along with much more!

9:30 To Cabins, devotions, and bed - This is the most important part of the day. The cabin family gathers back in the cabin after a full day. Lives are shared and mentored as bedtime routines are completed. Counselors share God's love, scripture and their own stories of how God has been a faithful Savior to them.

** Bell will ring - Schedule changes are made by way of the Bell.
